Agreement

The information contained on this site is an invitation to do business and not an offer. If you forward an offer to us, Travel African Time shall indicate their acceptance thereof by return mail. Travel African Time acts herein as an agent for our respective business partners and therefore any agreement resulting from the acceptance of an order is deemed to be an agreement between the relevant business partner and yourself.

Editorial Control

This website contains content provided by third parties and hyperlinks to other sites. Travel African Time does not screen or filter such content or the other sites or information available from the other sites, and therefore does not accept any liability for defamatory, illegal or criminal content contained on those sites. We encourage our users to report any infringement, illegal or criminal content found on any of the sites available through links from this site in order to investigate whether such a link should be removed. Due to the variation of season our rates are purely an indication and whilst we do our level best to maintain the accuracy these are indicative.

Applicable Law

This site is created, maintained and controlled in the Republic of South Africa and as such, the laws of the Republic of South Africa and the jurisdiction of the South African Court govern this user agreement and the use or inability to use this site.

Change to User Agreement

Travel African Time reserves the right to make changes to this site and this user agreement at any time without notice.

Detailed description of goods and/or services

    1. Travel African Time (Pty) Ltd is a business in the travel and tourism industry that offers services to the public which include but are not limited to:
      1. Accommodations
      2. Flights
      3. Transfers
        Car Rental
        Train Bookings
      4. Tours
        Restaurant Bookings, and
      5. For any other travel-related services we assist in booking.

Delivery policy

    1. Subject to availability and receipt of payment, requests will be processed within 7 days and delivery confirmed by way of Travel vouchers for all services confirmed and paid for.

Cancellation and Refunds policy

    1. The provision of goods and services by Travel African Time is subject to availability.
    2. In the event that you cancel your booking, in full or partially, for any reason whatsoever Travel African Time will levy cancellation charges as defined in Section C below. In the occasional instance where Travel African Time is able to obtain waivers of cancellation fees and/or secure an ex-gratia refund from suppliers, Travel African Time will pass this on to you less the Service Fee. However, Travel African Time makes no guarantees as to securing such waivers or refunds.
    3. Cancellations of bookings must be done in writing. Where cancellations are sent by e-mail, you must obtain an e-mail proof of receipt and retain written acknowledgement of receipt from Travel African time
    4. Cancellation of bookings
      1. Cancellation 61+ days prior to travel – Full 30 % deposit is forfeited
      2. Cancellation 8 – 4 weeks prior to travel – 50% of the total cost is forfeited
      3. Cancellation less than 4 weeks prior to travel – 100% of the total cost is forfeited
    5. Travel African Time will make every effort to confirm the required services after the deposit payment. In the unlikely event of us being unable to confirm the itinerary travel services you will be offered alternative available travel services. Should the alternative available travel services not be acceptable to you we will provide a full refund
    6. Travel African Time will make every effort to ensure the delivery of services as defined in the confirmed itinerary however we reserve the right to cancel services where unavoidable due to circumstances beyond the control of Travel African Time. In the unlikely instance that Travel African Time should cancel services defined in the confirmed itinerary Travel African Time will provide a full refund on the cancelled service/s only.
    7. Travel African Time will make every effort to avoid misquoting. However, we reserve the right to cancel a reservation without liability or penalty if an obvious error or omission leads to a material cost implication.
    8. No refunds will be given by Travel African Time for partially used travel vouchers or for no-shows.

Customer Privacy policy

    1. Travel African Time shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA).     2. Data we collect
      1. We distinguish in this policy between ‘personal data’ (data that is required to facilitate international travel), and ‘non-personal data’ (data regarding usage of the websites, and de-identified information extracted from the websites for analysis). We collect both personal and non-personal data through our websites and through third parties, either automatically, or by your providing this information to us during enquiring, signing up for our newsletter, or during the consultation phase to help us improve the information we will be providing you with.
    3. User Notifications:
      1. Failure to provide requested information may impair our ability to provide professional advice when curating and sharing proposed travel itineraries.
      2. You will need to ensure that your personal information submitted to us is accurate and up-to-date.
      3. You are responsible for any third-party information obtained, published or shared through the websites, and you consent to only use or share this third-party data with the third party’s consent.
    4. Personal Data
      1. We collect and store the personal information that you may provide to us through our websites when you enquire with us, update or change your information with us, or make use of our services.
      2. We also collect and store information in relation to your travel itinerary, travel preferences and particulars of those travelling with you, for example through communications, surveys and other data submitted by you.
      3. Customer details will be stored by Travel African Time separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za 
    5. Non-personal Data:
      1. In addition to personal data, we also store non-personal data, which cannot be used to identify our users. The kinds of non-personal data that we collect includes de-identified data about usage of our website.
      2. We also make use of cookies or similar tracking tools to identify website users and remember their preferences, for the purpose of providing a better user experience and service, and marketing/advertising our services online.
    6. How We Share Information
      1. We use a number of external parties to assist us in processing personal data for the above purposes, and they may hold this personal data on their own servers for these purposes. We may share the information we obtain with:
        1. Service Providers. In connection with the operation and provision of our service, we engage various third parties to provide services or handle transactions on your behalf, such as payment card processing, email distribution, list processing, postal mailing, cloud computing, analytics, digital content performance measurement, ad serving and managing sweepstakes, contests, promotions or events. These service providers use the information we provide to them as necessary or appropriate for the performance of their services.
        2. Advertisers, Advertising- and Marketing-Related Service Providers and Partners. We may provide your information to advertisers, advertising agencies, ad networks, ad exchanges, marketing businesses, technology vendors and other entities that create, deliver and assess advertising or marketing campaigns, including interest-based ads.
        3. Content Measurement Companies. We and third parties seek to measure the performance of our content. To achieve this we may include third-party measurement software in our services to enable market research or to measure digital and video content consumption. 
        4. Social Media Platforms. If you interact with social media widgets, share content using social media share buttons, or access features of the Digital Services that contain content or features provided by Social Media Platforms, the relevant Social Media Platforms may collect information. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the Social Media Platforms that you engage with as we are not responsible for their privacy practices.
        5. Business Partners. We may provide your information to business partners including, without limitation, joint marketing partners and content sponsors, for various purposes. For example, we may partner with a third party to offer products or services on a co-branded, co-sponsored or cross-promotional basis that involves the sharing of information.
        6. We are not responsible for, nor do we endorse the privacy practices of these external third parties.

Confirming your travel service booked by Travel African Time

    1. In order to confirm your booking, you need to make the following payments to Travel African
      1. A 30% deposit is required to secure your accommodation and transfers;
      2. Full payment is required for all Charter, Scheduled and Commercial flights;
      3. The final balance of the invoice is due 2 months (60 days) prior to travel;
      4. Full payment is required for bookings made less than 2 months (60 days) prior to travel;
      5. Greater deposits may be required in the instance of specialized products, or in the instance of peak season travel, and will be stipulated in this Invoice under ‘Service Inclusions’.

Payment options

  1. Payment may be made via international bank transfer (SWIFT)
  2. Payment may be made via Visa and MasterCard.

Card acquiring and security

  1. Card transactions will be acquired for Travel African Time via PayGate (Pty) Ltd which is the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks.
  2. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency

  1. The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

Responsibility

    1. Travel African Time takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including the sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.

Country of domicile

    1. This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and Travel African Time chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature: 86 de Villiers Way, Glencairn, Cape Town, South Africa, 7975.

Variation

    1. Travel African Time may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.

Travel Insurance

We highly recommend all clients to subscribe to travel insurance covering cancellations or medical emergencies.

Passports and Children

Please note that anyone traveling to Southern Africa must have two consecutive blank pages in their passport which lie side by side when the passport is open (i.e. a left- and a right-hand page). Passengers traveling to Southern Africa with passports which do not comply with these requirements, will either be stopped from boarding the aircraft or risk deportation on arrival in Southern Africa. In addition, a parent traveling with children, without the other parent, will need a letter of consent from the absent parent. The letter of consent must be certified by the police.

Insurance
